
Dog Training and Behavior / Compassion Fatigue Educator
Group dog training classes are a fun and rewarding way to learn with your dog. We keep our classes small maximum for optimal learning and so each participant can receive individual attention. We teach you how to train your dog through positive methods and motivators to reinforce the desirable behaviors and develop a strong relationship. Our goal is to help you communicate with your dog in a clear, concise way so your dog understands, through positive reinforcement.
Requirements: Dogs must have current vaccinations (DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella) given at least two weeks prior to beginning of class. Vaccines will need to be kept up to date while enrolled in a class.
Basic Dog Manners Class (6 months and older)
This class provides your dog with a solid foundation necessary for a well-mannered companion. We will incorporate fun and games while building your dog’s confidence and enhancing your relationship. The class will focus on socialization skills, good manners and impulse control through better communication and understanding, as well as relaxation and focus exercises.
Your dog will learn basic manners such as, sit, down, loose leash walking, leave it, trade, polite greetings and to come when called.
Requirements: Current vaccinations.
You will receive six 1-hour classes.

Group Dog Training Classes
Intermediate Manners Class (6 months and older)
This class takes you beyond Basic Manners and will help your dog strengthen and perfect previously taught behaviors like leave-it, trade, leash walking, recalls, polite greeting….. , while incorporating more distance, duration and distractions.
The class will also cover supervised separation, handling and emergency cues for quick responses from your dog. Your dog will also learn new behaviors such as wait, stay, go to mat. We will incorporate fun and games, such as targeting, shaping and nose games.
Requirements: Current vaccinations, completion of Basic Dog Manners or other similar Basic Manners training.
You will receive 6 one hour classes.

Advanced Manners Class (9 months and older)
This class polishes behaviors learned in Basic and Intermediate Manners continuing to strengthen and perfect behaviors like leave-it, leash walking, recall and polite greetings. We will introduce distance control behaviors such as stop and sit during recall, and increase distance, duration and distractions with stays and recalls. You will work your dog on and off leash helping your dog to be well behaved off leash.
We will incorporate fun games and acivities taken from Rally-O and "Wag-It!Games" Shadow Skills .
Requirements: Current vaccinations, successful completion of the Intermediate Dog Manners or, other similar Level 2 Manners/Obedience training.
You will receive 6 one hour classes.

AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test Prep Class
This class is designed to prepare owners and their dogs to take the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. The CGC test is a way to award recognition as a respected member of the community to dogs who have been trained to be well behaved in the home, public places and in the presence of people and other dogs. The CGC test will be given in week 6 of the class.
The Canine Good Citizen test comprises of the following:

Requirements: Current vaccinations, completion of a basic manners class and/or dogs well trained on leash and are attentive to owners in distracting environments. Dogs must be comfortable working around other dogs and people.
